5 Operation During Pr ojection This section explains the v arious types of ope rations you can perf or m while the projector is projecting an image. Y ou can perform the follo wing oper ations while projecting an image.
6 Selecting the Color Mode Y ou can select from amo ng fiv e different co lor mode settings to optimize the projected image in accordance with image c ontents and projection conditions. T o change the color mode 1 Press the [COLOR MODE] key . z This displays the colo r mode selection w indow .
7 Momentarily Cutting Off th e Input Sour ce Image 1 Press the [BLANK] key . z This temporar ily cuts off t he image from the i nput source and proj ects a black screen in its place. 2 T o resume projection of the image from the input source, press the [BLANK] key (or [ESC] key).
8 Displa ying a P ointer in the Projected Ima g e Y ou can select from amo ng diff erent pointer styles, including various arrow styles, f or display in the projected image. P ointers can be used during a presentation to indicate or highlight a specific par t of the image.
9 T o select the pointer type 1 Press the [POINTER] key to display the pointer . 2 Keep pressing the [POINTER] key until the pointer y ou want is displayed. z Each pres s of the [POINTER] k ey cycles through the av ailabl e pointer types. T o clear the pointer fr om the ima g e Press the [ESC] key .
10 T urning on the Eco Mode reduces lamp brightness to save po wer . The projector’s cooling f an also operates at a slow er speed while the Ec o Mode is tur ned on, which results in quieter operation. T urn on the Eco Mode when your priority is quieter operation.
11 Configuring Ad vanced Pr ojector Settings Y our projector has a setup menu that you can use to configure adv anced se ttings. Display ing the Setup Menu Pressing the [MENU] ke y displays the menu sh o wn below in the center of the projection screen.
12 Basic Setup Menu Example The procedure below sho w s ho w to conf igure the following three settings: • Image Adjustment 1 J Contrast • Image Adjustment 1 J Color Mode • Option Settings 1 J Eco Mod e Note z Cer tain settings on the setup menu cannot b e changed while there is no input signal to the projector .
13 T o configure the “Image Adjustment 1 J Color Mode” setting 5 Press the [ T ] key once to select “Color Mode”. 6 Press the [ENTER] key . z This displays the colo r mode menu. 7 Use the [ T ] and [ S ] keys to select the color mode y ou want, a nd then press the [ENTER ] key .
14 The password f eature lets you keep unauthorized individuals from using the projector . Y ou can specify whether passw ord i nput is required whenev er you turn on the projector , and you can specify and change the passw ord as required.
15 Keep a written record of y our passwor d! Y ou will not be able to use the projector if you f orget its password. W e strongly suggest that you k eep a wr itten or other type of record of the pass word so you can look it up when necessar y . T o change the passwor d 1 Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu.
16 T o turn passw ord p rotection on and off 1 Display the P ower On P asswor d setting screen by performing steps 1 thr ough 5 of the procedure under “T o change the passwor d” on pa g e 15. z At this tim e , make sure that “P ower On Pass word” i s selected on the Pow er On P assword setting screen.
17 Y ou can use the procedures in this section to re store all of the settings on a par ticular main menu or all of the settings on the setup menu to their initial factory defaults. T o restore all settings on a particular main menu to their initial factor y defaults 1 Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu.

21 About the “Signal Sp ecific” Setting Unit For the items that hav e “Signal Specific” in the “Setting Unit” column of the above tab le, the setting is saved f or the s pecific type of signal (XGA/60H z, SXGA/60Hz, etc.) that is being input when the setting is performed, an d not f or a specific input source.

32 The video resolution of the projected image is 1024 × 768 pixels (4:3 aspect ratio). When RGB is input from a computer and projected by the projector , the input image is enlarged or reduced automatically to match the video resolution of the projector .
