1 1. MOUNTING NO TICE Do not apply paint, anti-corrosive sealant or contact spray to coating or plastic parts of the equipment. Those items contain organic solv ents that can damage coating and plastic par ts, especially plastic connectors.
2 • Mount the unit w here shock and vi bration are minimal. • Keep the unit away fr om electr omagnet ic field-g enerat ing equipment such as motors and gene rators. • For maintenance and c hecking purposes, leave suf ficient space at the si des and rear o f the unit and leave slack in cables.

5 1.3.1 Mount ing Locat ion T o decide t he location of t he transducer , t he following points should be taken into account. • The most important matter is where the transducer is installed. The position should be free from aeration possibly occurring beneath the hull and also not af fected by engine and propeller noise.
6 7. It is recommended to enclose the transducer cable in a conduit pipe for waterproofness and electrical shielding as well as for protecting the cable from mechanical damage. T he conduit pipe should be fixed to the flange on the transducer tank. The pipe should be of such a length to clear the w ater level when the ship is fully loaded.
7 1.5 Matching Box The matching box should be selec ted depending on the transducer type; • 50B-6B transducer: MB-502 • 200B-8B transducer: MB-504 Fasten the matching box w ith four T r apping screws (6x20: local supply). Compass safe distances are as follows; standard compas s: 0.
8 F type Use the accessories FP6 5-00401 (See page A- 7). 1. Prepare a cutou t in the mounting location whose dimensions are 183 ( W ) x 92 (H ) mm. 2. Attach the cosmetic pan el (20-016-1051) to the indicator wi th two hex bolts (M 6x12) and two spring washers (M 6).
9 1.7 T ransd u cer Sw itch Box EX-8 (opt ion ) If two transducers are installed, the transducers switch box is required. Locate the transducer switch box near the display unit considering length of the interconnection cable. Select the bright place where the p anel of equipment can b e watched.
10 4. Grease (supplied) both sides of the gasket 1 and the inner side of the sp acer . Place the gasket 1 onto the spacer . 5. Clean the flange side of the gate valv e, and pl ace it on the gasket 1. The scale side o f the gate valve should be up. 6. Fix stud bolts with w ashers and bolts loosely .
11 2. WIRING Wiring Connect three cable assemblies (supplied) between the display unit and di stribution box. See the interconnection diagram for details.

17 T ransducer Connect the transducer cable to the distribution box. If necessary , attach the junction box between the distribution box and matching box. Ground Connect the ground wire (2.0 sq.) from both the display unit and distribution box to ship’ s ground to prevent interference to the picture.
18 A larm system co nnection The power error and shallow water alarms, w hich produce audio and visual alarms in the ev ent of power failure and shallow water , can be output by connecting the distribution box to the ship’ s alarm syste m. Connect the DPYCYS-1.
19 Case2: Silencing the alarm from the digit al dept h indicator FE-7 20 W hen the main display unit FE-701 activates an a larm, it can be deactivated at the FE-701 itsel f and also, it can be deactiv ated from the digital depth indicator FE-720. T o do this, connect as foll ow s.
20 3. CHANGING POWER SPECIFICA TIONS This unit is set at factory to operate from 220-230 V AC ship's mains. For connection to a 100 V AC, 1 10-1 15 V AC, 200 V AC or 24 VDC ship's mains, modify the connections in the distribution box as show n below .
